Gifts
How a gift is chosen, paid for, claimed or declined, and what happens when the recipient already owns part of it.
What a gift is
A gift is named goods bought for someone else, not stored value or credit. Every ready digital item, and the basket, has Send as gift beside the button to buy it for yourself. The recipient is not signed up to anything.
A gift is always your explicit choice. Mochirix never adds one to an order, and no collection ever needs a gift to be completed.
Sending a gift
- Choose Send as gift on the item or in your basket.
- Review and approve the exact named contents and price. When wishlists arrive, a quote for one will cover only the items the recipient asked for and is missing, without showing you anything else they own. A public player name alone never lets anyone look up what someone owns.
- Pay as for any purchase. The receipt and any refund stay with you, the payer.
- Once the payment is confirmed, make the gift’s claim link on your order page and pass it on yourself. For now every gift is sent as a link; gifts addressed to a named recipient will come with wishlists. Sending a gift by email is not available yet.
Mochirix never messages anyone on your behalf, including when someone visits a gallery.
Claiming a gift
Claiming needs a verified account other than the payer’s: you cannot claim your own gift. Accounts are for people 18 and over, so only someone 18 or over may claim a gift. The first valid claim wins: the gift is granted once, and two people claiming at the same moment cannot both receive it. Once claimed, the goods count toward the recipient’s collections, not the payer’s.
The payer can replace a gift’s claim link from the order page. A link that expires for security reasons does not cancel the gift: while its goods are still valid and unclaimed, a new link can be issued.
If the recipient already owns part of it
A gift for someone whose collection you cannot see contains exactly what you bought. If, when they claim, they already own an item in it, Mochirix does not hand them a useless duplicate or turn it into cash or credit. Instead:
- the gift stays unclaimed;
- the recipient can decline it;
- the payer can refund it, under the approved policy: placeholder. Replacement quotes are not available yet.
The goods are never changed, and no difference is ever charged, without the payer’s explicit choice.

Personalized gifts
A personalized gift is made only after the recipient’s brief (name, dedication, motif and palette) has been approved. If a brief is never completed, the order follows a disclosed recovery and refund path: placeholder.
Refunds
A gift refunded before it is claimed is revoked. A gift refunded after it is claimed is removed from the recipient, whose collection progress is recounted; anything else they own is untouched. The same applies when the payer disputes the payment with their bank. If a refund does not go through, an unclaimed gift waits to be claimed again, and the last link you made works again for another 30 days; you do not need to make a new one. A claimed gift stays with its recipient. The details are on the refunds and cancellations page.
